We are looking for an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and deliver cutting-edge, scalable data solutions.

This role involves leading technical teams, designing system architectures, and contributing to impactful initiatives that address complex data challenges. The ideal candidate combines a solid technical foundation, leadership abilities, and a passion for mentoring and innovation.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of designing and implementing scalable, efficient data architectures
Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows to ensure quality and accessibility
Work closely with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
Mentor and guide engineering teams with technical expertise
Enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability through optimization efforts
Set technical best practices and ensure delivery of high-quality code
Perform code reviews and engage in technical decision-making processes
Support client-facing engagements, pre-sales activities, and special project initiatives
Share knowledge and contribute to community discussions via meetups and talks
Explore and apply emerging technologies for innovative solutions

Requirements

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
7+ years of experience in data engineering roles
2+ years of leadership experience in team and project management
Participation in 2 or more full-cycle projects or phases of development lifecycles
Proven ability to code and address complex technical challenges
Proficiency in Python for automation, analysis, and data processing
Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud-based solutions
Background in leveraging Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning
Competency in system design and architecture, with both strategic and implementation capabilities
Strong track record of delivering technical impact across projects or organizations
Broad understanding of diverse technical domains and stacks
Passion for mentoring and fostering knowledge-sharing within teams
Capability to innovate by introducing new tools, frameworks, or methodologies
Adaptability to navigate different programming languages, technical ecosystems, and domains
Advanced English communication skills at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

Background in real-time data processing and streaming platforms
Understanding of advanced machine learning and AI frameworks
Familiarity with serverless computing for data-driven workflows
