We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and lead the delivery of innovative and scalable data solutions.

In this role, you will oversee technical teams, design system architectures, and contribute to impactful projects that address complex data challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, leadership capabilities, and a passion for mentoring and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architectures
Develop data pipelines and workflows to ensure quality and accessibility
Collaborate with stakeholders to collect requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams
Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability of systems
Establish technical best practices and ensure delivery of high-quality code
Conduct code reviews and contribute actively to technical discussions
Support pre-sales activities, client engagements, and SWAT team operations
Encourage knowledge sharing and participate in meetups and technical talks
Stay informed about emerging technologies and adopt innovative solutions

Requirements

Education in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
At least 7 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
Minimum of 2 years in leadership roles, managing teams and directing projects
Participation in at least 2 full-cycle projects or multiple phases of development lifecycles
Proven hands-on expertise in coding and solving advanced technical challenges
Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation
Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud-based solutions
Background in Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning workflows
Skills in system design and architecture, balancing vision with detailed implementation
Evidence of delivering significant technical impact on projects and within organizations
Broad cross-disciplinary knowledge across various technical domains and stacks
Commitment to mentoring and sharing expertise with teams and the broader community
Capability to innovate through the adoption of new tools, frameworks, or methods
Flexibility to use diverse programming languages, technical stacks, and domains
Competency in English communication at B2 level or higher

Nice to have

Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
Understanding of advanced machine learning and AI frameworks
Knowledge of serverless computing solutions for data workflows
