We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and deliver innovative, scalable data solutions.

In this role, you will lead technical teams, design system architectures, and work on projects that address complex data challenges. The ideal candidate will have robust technical expertise, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for mentoring and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architectures
Develop data pipelines and workflows to ensure data quality and accessibility
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver impactful solutions
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineering teams
Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability
Drive best practices to ensure high-quality code delivery
Conduct code reviews and participate in technical discussions
Support client engagements, pre-sales activities, and SWAT team initiatives
Promote knowledge sharing through meetups and technical talks
Monitor emerging technologies and introduce innovative solutions

Requirements

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
At least two years of experience in leadership roles, including team management and project direction
Experience contributing to two or more full-cycle projects or multiple phases of development lifecycles
Hands-on expertise in coding and solving complex technical challenges
Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and analysis
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud-based data solutions
Skills in Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning workflows
System design and architecture expertise with a balance of high-level vision and detailed implementation
Proven capability to deliver significant technical impact in projects and organizations
Cross-disciplinary competency in various technical domains and stacks
Strong mentorship skills and commitment to sharing expertise within teams
Demonstrated innovation through tools, frameworks, or methodology integration
Flexibility to work with multiple programming languages, stacks, and domains
Fluency in English communication at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

Proficiency in real-time data processing and streaming technologies
Knowledge of advanced machine learning and AI frameworks
Familiarity with serverless computing solutions for data workflows
