We are seeking an experienced Chief Data Engineer to join our remote team and lead the delivery of innovative and scalable data solutions.

This role involves managing technical teams, designing system architecture, and contributing to meaningful projects that solve complex data challenges. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background, leadership qualities, and a dedication to mentoring and innovation.

Responsibilities

Take the lead in designing and implementing scalable and efficient data architectures
Build and maintain data pipelines and workflows to ensure data quality and accessibility
Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver data-driven solutions
Mentor engineering teams and offer technical guidance
Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability
Enforce technical best practices and ensure the delivery of high-quality code
Provide feedback through code reviews and participate in technical discussions
Support client engagements, pre-sales activities, and SWAT team efforts
Foster knowledge sharing within the team and participate in meetups and technical talks
Keep up with emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions

Requirements

A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
At least 7 years of experience in a Data Engineering role
Minimum of 2 years' experience in leadership roles, including team and project management
Participation in at least 2 full-cycle projects or multiple phases of development life cycles
Expertise in coding and solving complex technical challenges
Proficiency in Python for data processing, analysis, and automation
Deep knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud-based data solutions
Experience with Databricks for big data analytics and machine learning workflows
Strong skills in system design and architecture with the ability to align vision and implementation
Achievements delivering significant impact on projects and organizational goals
Broad cross-disciplinary knowledge covering various technical domains and stacks
Commitment to mentoring and sharing expertise within teams and beyond
Capacity to drive innovation by adopting new tools, frameworks, or methodologies
Flexibility to work with multiple programming languages, stacks, and domains as required
Fluent communication in English at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

Background in real-time data processing and streaming technologies
Knowledge of advanced machine learning and AI frameworks
Familiarity with serverless computing solutions for data workflows
