We are on the lookout for a highly skilled remote Chief 3rd Line/Software Maintenance Engineer to lead our team in the creation of our infrastructure monitoring, also known as the observability platform. This platform caters to our worldwide clientele and your key responsibility will be to ensure it's designed, implemented, and maintained to uphold the highest standards of quality, scalability, and maintainability. Leading a team of engineers, collaborating with other teams and stakeholders, as well as fostering innovation and best practices within the company also falls within the scope of your duties.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructure monitoring platform, ensuring high marks on quality, scalability, and maintainability
- Guide and mentor a team of engineers, fostering innovation and establishing best practices within the company
- Work in synergy with other teams and stakeholders to confirm the platform meets business and technical necessities
- Formulate and implement the observability strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and targets
- Stay current with the latest trends and technologies related to infrastructure observability and monitoring, integrating them into the platform
- Ascertain the platform attains optimum standards of security, compliance, and performance
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years' experience as a Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, System Administrator, or Cloud Engineer
- Profound expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically in crafting and deploying scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-availability systems
- Skilled in Bash scripting with experience in Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration
- Strong grasp of Linux operating systems and experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team of engineers, driving innovation and best practices with at least 2 years of relevant leadership experience
- Participation in at least two full cycle projects or involvement in several projects covering different phases of the development life cycle
- Excellent proficiency in English communication, B2+ or C1 level, for effective interaction with international teams and stakeholders
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Grafana, Honeycomb, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Sumologic for observability and monitoring
- Experience with Git for version control and exposure to Go or Python language for programming
- Strong understanding of network basics and experience in network troubleshooting
