We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in Compliance Trade Surveillance within an Investment Banking environment to act as the bridge between business and IT. The ideal candidate will analyze business processes, gather requirements, and design pragmatic solutions that align with strategic goals while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Determine required IT business solutions and assist in their implementation
- Conduct requirements-gathering activities using internal and external data sources, including stakeholder interviews
- Design pragmatic software solutions to address business problems while considering the strategic future state model
- Build functional solutions supported by thorough data analysis
- Act as the primary contact between business users and the technology team before, during, and after project implementations
- Assist in quality control and project management activities
Requirements
- 7-10 years of overall IT experience, with multi-year experience in the design and development of enterprise software in a distributed environment within the financial services industry, preferably in investment banking and compliance-related projects
- Understanding of capital markets and knowledge of asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, FX, and their derivative products
- Experience in compliance trade surveillance applications like SMARTS, Trading Hub, and Actimize
- Expertise in applying business analysis techniques, including interpreting technical requirements and developing robust solutions
- Skills in data analysis and querying data, including writing SQL queries, to facilitate requirements capture
- Experience in Cloud platforms, preferably Azure, with respect to Data Ingestion, Data Cleansing, and Data Egress aspects
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodology, including experience in a Scrum Master role
- Capability to write clear, concise, and thorough requirements and functional design documentation to a professional standard
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor style to the audience
- Passion for technology and development of IT systems and applications
- Flexibility to adapt and work across diverse teams and functions across multiple cultures
- Showcase of a facilitative approach to issue resolution and willingness to cross role boundaries to achieve desired outcomes
