Find me a jobWe're looking for a Senior Data Engineer (HR Data Platform) to join our team in Zurich, Switzerland in a hybrid working mode.
In this role, you will work with a major banking client to expand and optimize their HR data platform. Your key responsibilities include refactoring ETL/ELT pipelines, onboarding new data sources, and creating scalable, automated integrations that enable data-driven decision-making. This is an opportunity to influence the reliability, performance, and architecture of high-impact systems within the financial domain.
Responsibilities
- Develop, refactor, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines for high-performing data flows
- Integrate data from multiple business sources into the central HR data warehouse
- Create structured and analytics-ready datasets to support People Analytics initiatives
- Design and implement Python-based integrations and connectors
- Promote standardized integration patterns and ensure architectural consistency
- Proactively identify, address, and resolve technical debt to improve reliability and performance
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and product owners to drive project success
Requirements
- Extensive experience in data engineering, ETL development, and data modeling
- Proven track record working in the banking or financial services sector
- Strong Python programming skills applied to data pipelines and system integrations
- Deep understanding of data quality assurance, system reliability, and code maintainability
- Self-driven, structured approach combined with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Professional fluency in English
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SAP systems, including SAP BW and SAP S/4HANA
- Practical knowledge of modern data tools such as Workday, Dataiku, Tableau, Trino, or Presto
