We are seeking an Associate Mobile Engineer specializing in Android to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing mobile applications that meet our design and functionality standards. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for mobile development and a willingness to collaborate with peers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to develop and solve problems within Android applications
- Proactively engage with peers across the organization to share knowledge and solve issues
- Develop and test standard Android software applications and related programs
- Apply software design principles and computer science fundamentals to write clean, maintainable, and optimized code
- Utilize database design knowledge to fulfill data requirements
- Help coordinate stakeholder input when developing solutions
- Understand and apply policies and processes where standardization is required
- Complete tasks and provide data to support implementation of comprehensive solutions
- Report on current work status and participate in team meetings
- Challenge existing processes and suggest improvements when necessary
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in mobile development
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin
- Understanding of RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
- Comfortable with continuous integration
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level
Nice to have
- Experience with additional programming languages and mobile platforms is a plus
- Familiarity with modern architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVP
