We are seeking a highly skilled Akamai Security Expert to join our team and provide specialized support in securing eCommerce platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Akamai CDN services, with a focus on security solutions such as bot detection and mitigation, DDoS protection, and application-layer security.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Akamai security features, particularly in Bot Manager, Web Application Protector (WAP) and DDoS protection
  • Configuration and optimization of Akamai CDN rules and security configurations to align with business and application needs
  • Analysis of security threats across the eCommerce landscape and development of mitigation strategies and incident response procedures
  • Support for ongoing improvements in bot detection, rate limiting, edge security policies and custom rule sets
  • Liaison with internal stakeholders and external vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices in edge security
  • Provision of documentation, training and knowledge transfer to internal teams as required
Requirements
  • Expertise in Akamai CDN services with a focus on bot detection and mitigation, DDoS protection and application-layer security
  • Proficiency in Akamai Bot Manager, Web Application Protector (WAP) and DDoS protection
  • Skills in configuring and optimizing Akamai CDN rules and security configurations
  • Competency in security threat analysis, mitigation strategies and incident response procedures
  • Knowledge of rate limiting, edge security policies and custom rule sets
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
Nice to have
  • Akamai certification(s) or equivalent hands-on expertise
  • Background in regulated industries or environments with PCI-DSS or GDPR compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with collaborating across application development, QA and DevOps teams
