We're searching for a hands-on Accounting & Tax Manager to support our Brazilian operations, reinforcing EPAM's local controllership functions while guiding our Brazilian legal entities through a phase of substantial accounting, tax, and process change. This individual will report directly to the Country Controller and will act as the go-to technical authority on accounting and tax matters for Brazil, managing statutory accounting, tax obligations, audit activities, external vendor relationships, and tax reform efforts, all while staying hands-on with detailed accounting, reconciliation, and statutory/tax tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Uphold a sound accounting structure along with corresponding internal controls in accordance with BR GAAP/CPC, US-GAAP, and EPAM's corporate guidelines
  • Oversee monthly closing outputs, trial balances, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations, working with the Country Controller to resolve issues promptly
  • Personally prepare, assess, and question detailed accounting and tax evaluations when necessary, given that this position demands direct technical involvement rather than simply overseeing vendors
  • Assist with statutory financial statement preparation, statutory and tax audits, and controls aligned with SOX standards
  • Facilitate coordination of deliverables among Global SSC teams, local external accounting/tax vendors, auditors, and tax consultants
  • Take ownership of reviewing and questioning Brazil's tax compliance obligations for a service-based company, covering IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, COFINS, and related secondary requirements
  • Contribute to and help drive readiness efforts around Brazil's tax reform, addressing CBS/IBS implications, invoice formatting, tax coding, vendor verification, input credit oversight, and audit trail needs
  • Monitor and ensure quality across outsourced accounting and tax compliance functions, staying prepared to execute or rebuild these processes internally if needed down the line
  • Assist with bridging statutory results to US-GAAP, local management reporting, FP&A requests, payroll-related reconciliations, and additional controllership analysis
  • Contribute to integration projects, entity simplification work, and ongoing process improvements across Brazil
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline, with a strong preference for Accounting/Ciências Contábeis
  • Possession of an active CRC registration is mandatory or highly expected
  • Roughly five or more years of pertinent experience in accounting, controllership, and/or tax functions within Brazil, ideally gained at a multinational firm, Big 4 company, outsourcing provider, or shared-services organization
  • Solid command of BR GAAP/CPC standards along with reasonable familiarity with IFRS and/or US-GAAP reporting frameworks
  • Deep understanding of Brazilian tax regulations, particularly IRPJ, CSLL, ISS, PIS, and COFINS as they apply to service-sector operations
  • Hands-on familiarity with Brazil's digital tax and statutory processes, including ECD, ECF, DCTFWeb, EFD-Contribuições, EFD-Reinf, NFS-e, eSocial-related finance data, CND, and e-CAC monitoring
  • Background reviewing tax computations, statutory submissions, reconciliations, and audit documentation prepared by outside vendors
  • Direct ERP system experience, with SAP preferred; familiarity with JDE, Brazilian localization features, NFS-e interfaces, or tax engines considered beneficial
  • Advanced-level Excel skills, strong reconciliation capabilities, and the ability to explain intricate accounting/tax subjects in clear terms
  • Professional-level English proficiency for regular interaction with global stakeholders, with Spanish considered an advantage
Nice to have
  • Holding a postgraduate qualification, MBA, or specialized certification in Tax, Controllership, IFRS, or Finance
  • Previous participation in Brazil's tax reform readiness work, including CBS/IBS rollout or process redesign
  • Background working within technology, consulting, or professional-services organizations
  • Hands-on experience managing statutory and tax audits from the perspective of a legal entity
  • Exposure to SOX control frameworks and environments involving US-listed multinational companies
