Accessibility Analysis

EPAM is actively seeking a skilled and collaborative Accessibility Consultant to elevate our accessibility services. In this role, you will play a vital role in advancing digital accessibility initiatives for our clients' products, guaranteeing inclusivity and superior user experiences for all.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, experienced, and thoroughly versed in accessibility standards and best practices. You should have a fervent passion for accessibility, a robust customer orientation, and a successful history of deploying accessible solutions within a software development setting. Your contributions will be crucial in creating accessible products for EPAM's clients, ensuring alignment with the client's vision and strategy to deliver outstanding digital experiences to every user.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee consultative sales efforts, craft proposals, and conduct persuasive pitches for accessibility consulting services, ensuring strong narratives compatible with our capabilities
  • Facilitate client workshops, direct stakeholder discussions, and manage specific tasks during project engagements
  • Forge and execute a comprehensive accessibility strategy for EPAM's clients that aligns with the company's overarching mission and objectives
  • Develop and uphold a staffing plan that achieves accessibility goals
  • Champion accessibility initiatives at every level, including executive leadership, integrating accessibility into all stages of product development
  • Conduct accessibility training for product teams, providing them with the resources and knowledge to develop accessible products
  • Maintain awareness of accessibility laws, guidelines, and trends to keep EPAM ahead in compliance
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to incorporate accessibility best practices into design and development processes
  • Set and monitor metrics to assess product accessibility and regularly report progress to leadership
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in digital accessibility, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and managing accessibility services and initiatives in a software product context
  • Expertise in acting as a client partner, understanding their broader needs beyond individual projects, and facilitating client success at an organizational level
  • Competency in confidently engaging with high-level client executives, articulating challenges, and offering strategic guidance
  • Proficiency in planning, executing, monitoring, and completing projects on time and within scope
  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1, ARIA) and legal requirements (e.g., ADA, Section 508)
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and voice recognition software
  • Background in leading roadmap strategy and definition for accessibility initiatives
  • Capability to contribute to discussions on technology decisions and product-related strategies
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, ranging from developers to designers to legal experts
  • Customer-focused, resourceful, team-oriented, and able to work independently under time constraints
Nice to have
  • Background in conducting accessibility audits and usability tests, providing detailed, actionable feedback to development, QA, and design teams to enhance product accessibility
