Skills expected from Oracle remote Developers

Oracle job requirements go far beyond a good knowledge of Oracle infrastructure. Proficiency with databases, familiarity with SQL, and web development experience are usually expected from a senior-level specialist. Among specific skills for an Oracle SQL Developer are:

  • solid experience with Oracle services, publishers, database development, maintaining, testing, and documenting
  • proficiency in writing and tuning complex SQL queries by studying and indexing DB objects, creating materialized views, and so on
  • applied knowledge of SQL scripting
  • experience with designing performant database infrastructures, using Oracle 11g Release 2, Real Application Clusters, Grid Infrastructure, and DataGuard technology
  • ability to develop PL/SQL procedures and cover them with automated unit testing frameworks
  • experience with Java – validations, back-end modules, business objects – would be an asset
