We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of API management solutions using the Kong API Management Platform. Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of API solutions leveraging Kong’s API Management Platform
Establish and uphold best practices, standards, and guidelines for API management, security, and integration
Develop robust and scalable architecture solutions tailored to business requirements
Deploy Kong API Gateway, including plugin configuration, routing, and custom integrations
Collaborate with development teams to create APIs, manage API lifecycles, and ensure smooth backend integration
Optimize API performance, scalability, and security using Kong features such as caching, rate limiting, and authentication plugins
Coordinate and communicate with peers across various technology disciplines to ensure alignment and collaboration
Convey organizational and architectural approaches to stakeholders and teams
Contribute to defining digital platform strategies and roadmaps
Mentor and guide new team members and developers, fostering growth and knowledge-sharing

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience in IT
A minimum of 3 years in leadership roles such as Lead, Manager, Architect, or Coordinator
At least 2 years of experience managing teams of 20 or more employees
Experience participating in at least 5 full-cycle projects or launching products or key product capabilities to market
Expertise in DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for API deployment
Strong proficiency in Kong API Management Platform (OSS, Kong Enterprise, or Konnect)
Advanced skills in API design and development, including REST, gRPC, and GraphQL
Hands-on experience with Kong plugins, including native and custom development
Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and API Key management
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, Bash, or Python
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Ruby, Swift, and C++
Deep understanding of microservices architecture and service mesh patterns
Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack for API monitoring
Advanced English speaking and writing skills to enable effective communication with clients and stakeholders

Nice to have

Kong Certified Professional or similar certifications
Experience working with other API management tools such as Apigee, Mulesoft, or AWS API Gateway
Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling for APIs
