We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP FICO Consultant to join our team.
In this role, you will act as the subject-matter expert (SME) for SAP data retention, compliance, and archiving processes. You will collaborate with functional, business, and technical teams to design and implement strategies for managing historical data and ensuring seamless data migration and archiving in the S/4HANA environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, regulatory compliance, and system performance optimization within SAP projects.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with business and technical teams to gather and understand requirements for archiving and data management
- Assess the current SAP ECC data landscape to identify data retention policies, data volumes, and archiving needs
- Define and implement an end-to-end SAP Archiving strategy that aligns with business, regulatory, and technical requirements
- Design archiving solutions for critical SAP modules, including FI, CO, MM, and SD
- Identify and classify data for retention and archiving, covering transactional, master, and log data
- Configure and manage SAP ECC and S/4HANA archiving objects to support effective data lifecycle management
- Utilize SAP ILM functionalities for data destruction, retention management, and archiving requests
- Collaborate with technical teams to optimize system performance and manage storage requirements
- Conduct pilot tests for archiving solutions to evaluate their impact on system performance and data accessibility
- Plan and execute validations for archived data to ensure its integrity and usability
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for archiving procedures, engaging business users and teams
- Document archiving configurations, policies, and procedures for audits and future reference
- Prepare compliance reports and maintain audit trails for archived and retained data
- Develop technical and functional documentation, including training materials and knowledge-sharing resources
- Establish data governance policies to ensure long-term compliance with archiving practices
- Provide training to business and technical users on retrieving archived data and understanding retention policies
- Support change management efforts to adopt new archiving practices across the organization
- Ensure smooth archiving of large volumes of legacy data while maintaining system functionality
- Recommend strategies to reduce database size and improve system performance post-migration
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in SAP projects with a focus on data retention and archiving
- Strong knowledge of SAP ECC and S/4HANA data structures, archiving methodologies, and migration technologies
- Proficiency in archiving processes across key SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, and SD
- Experience in defining and implementing retention policies, analyzing data volumes, and optimizing system performance
- Strong organizational and documentation skills to ensure compliance and alignment across teams
- Ability to adapt to dynamic project needs and prioritize tasks effectively
- Fluent English proficiency, both written and spoken, at a B2+ level or higher
