We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Model Developer to enhance and optimize 2-3 manufacturing-focused Power BI models.
This role involves transitioning flat reporting structures into dimensional data models, consolidating redundant data sources, pushing transformation logic to database layers, and ensuring integration with our core enterprise model.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Power BI data modeling, DAX optimization, and query folding strategies, and will work closely with both technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
Responsibilities
- Redesign existing Power BI models, transitioning from flat reporting structures to dimensional data models
- Consolidate and streamline redundant data sources to improve efficiency and organization
- Optimize transformation logic by pushing it to the database layer
- Ensure alignment with enterprise data standards and model architecture in collaboration with ABI modelers
- Partner with business subject matter experts to understand reporting requirements and align models to analytical needs
- Execute model improvements using advanced Power BI data modeling, DAX optimization, and query folding techniques
- Support the integration of restructured models into the core enterprise data framework
- Test and validate model performance, ensuring accuracy and scalability
- Develop documentation for model architecture and logic to support knowledge sharing and maintenance
- Provide expertise in troubleshooting and rectifying any modeling issues during and post-development
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Power BI data modeling with proven expertise in DAX and Power Query M
- Proficiency in query folding strategies, data transformation techniques, and model performance optimization
- Familiarity with enterprise data environments and dimensional data modeling principles
- Capability to assess model architecture, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement changes efficiently
- Showcase of successful Power BI projects involving transformation and integration of complex models
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders
- English language proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory for ETL and data pipeline management
- Skills in creating impactful data visualizations for business reporting
- Understanding of advanced data visualization principles to drive actionable insights
