Senior Okta Systems Engineer

We seek a seasoned Senior Okta Systems Engineer to join our client’s team in an independent capacity.

The position entails the installation, integration, and deployment of Okta solutions, the design of technical architectures, and the provision of expertise in identity and access management systems.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct installation, integration, and deployment of Okta solutions in client settings
  • Design and develop technical architectural frameworks for identity management, access management, and access governance integrations
  • Document the configuration and deployment processes, ensuring system consistency and compliance
  • Employ Java, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and SQL for customized solutions and integration
  • Utilize Okta features to manage authentication and authorization services
  • Maintain compliance and safeguard sensitive resources through privileged access management
  • Manage multiple tasks and adapt to ever-changing priorities to achieve project goals
  • Provide expertise in on-prem Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD, and other access management solutions
  • Develop integrated architectural solutions for device and user authentication across the application stack
  • Explore system enhancement opportunities
  • Recommend system optimization strategies
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Systems Engineer role or similar
  • Background in Okta Administration, including SSO, MFA, and Lifecycle Management, with a strong understanding of identity and access management principles, including SAML, OAuth, OIDC
  • Hands-on experience with the integration of Okta into various enterprise applications and systems
  • Knowledge of security concepts such as Zero Trust, least privilege, and RBAC
  • Experience in designing and constructing automation across systems, considering scalability, redundancy, and error handling
  • Proven ability to engage directly with customers independently
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills for resolving complex identity-related challenges
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, and their identity services
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC2
  • Familiarity with directory services such as Active Directory or Azure AD
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript for automation
