Senior Okta Systems Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Okta Systems Engineer to join our client's team as an individual contributor.
This role involves installing, integrating, and deploying Okta solutions, designing technical architectures, and providing expertise in identity and access management systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, integrate, and deploy Okta solutions in client environments
- Design and develop technical architectures for identity management, access management, and access governance integrations
- Document configuration and deployment processes, ensuring system consistency and compliance
- Utilize Java, JavaScript, JSP/Servlets, and SQL for solution customization and integration
- Leverage Okta features for authentication and authorization services
- Oversee privileged access management, safeguard sensitive resources and maintain compliance
- Adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks to achieve project goals
- Provide expertise with on-prem Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD, and other access management solutions
- Develop integrated architecture for device and user authentication across the application stack
- Identify opportunities for system improvement
- Provide recommendations for systems optimization
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer or similar role
- Background in Okta Administration, including SSO, MFA, and Lifecycle Management, with strong understanding of identity and access management principles including SAML, OAuth, OIDC
- Hands-on experience integrating Okta into various enterprise applications and systems
- Knowledge of security concepts like Zero Trust, least privilege, and RBAC
- Experience designing and building automation across systems with scalability, redundancy, and error handling considerations
- Proven ability to work directly with customers without supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex identity-related issues
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, and their identity services
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC2
- Familiarity with directory services like Active Directory or Azure AD
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages like Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript for automation
