We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior MongoDB Atlas Database Administrator to manage and maintain our MongoDB Atlas databases across various environments, including production. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of MongoDB instances and will play a critical role in the planning and execution of data migrations, backups, and recovery operations.
Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain MongoDB instances in multiple environments
- Monitor database performance to ensure optimal performance and response times
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to protect data
- Perform regular backups ensuring data recovery and integrity
- Execute data migration duties in accordance with project timelines
- Provide timely resolution to database issues and system outages
- Work with development teams to optimize queries and improve data indexing
- Analyze database systems and make default improvements for efficiency
- Maintain detailed records of database operations and changes
- Document all database procedures and configurations
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in managing MongoDB databases
- Strong understanding of MongoDB Atlas and its deployment across different environments
- Proficiency in database management, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Skills in data backup, recovery, security, and integrity
- Background experience and qualifications in database performance optimization and query tuning
- Knowledge of configuring and managing databases in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Proficiency in scripting languages
