Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our remote team, working with one of the biggest hedge funds in the world. Our client manages investments for a wide array of institutional clients, including foreign governments and central banks, corporate and public pension funds, university endowments, and charitable foundations. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the company's core applications, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including external clients, to understand requirements and develop innovative solutions to meet their business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the company's core applications, ensuring they meet high standards of quality and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external clients, to understand requirements and develop innovative solutions to meet their business goals
  • Optimize and fix performance issues to ensure optimal application performance
  • Estimate release timelines, plan releases, and ensure timely integration with other stakeholders
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all development processes and procedures
  • Participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and insights to improve code quality
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in Java 8+ (Core, Multi-Threading, Java Concurrency Framework, Memory Model, Garbage collection)
  • Expertise in AWS Cloud and Web Services (REST, SOAP) and ORM
  • Proficiency in ELK stack (Elastic search, LogStash, Kibana) and AWS (e.g. S3, SQS)
  • Experience with development tools and SCM (Gradle, Jenkins, Sonar, GitLab)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design patterns, good practices, and Clean Code rules
  • Ability to optimize and fix performance issues
  • Experience in release estimation, planning, and timely integration with other stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and proactivity
  • Flexibility to adjust a solution and suggest ideas to accomplish business goals
  • Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
