We are looking for a remote Senior Java Developer to work on a project that involves designing and implementing a fully functional solution to a complex business problem. This exciting opportunity will see you leading a team of developers to build and maintain high-quality software applications, utilizing your expertise in Java and a range of other cutting-edge technologies. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be expected to make well-defined technology choices, justify your decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and serve as an expert in your field. With your guidance, the team will establish operational excellence metrics, ensuring that testing and monitoring tools are used to maintain a high level of quality in the codebase.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and maintainable software applications
- Support the team in establishing operational excellence metrics to ensure high-quality code
- Make well-defined technology choices and justify decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Lead the development of software applications, ensuring that they adhere to design requirements
- Provide guidance to junior developers and mentor them in their duties
- Identify areas for improvement within the code and suggest solutions to address them
- Advocate for operational excellence, including unit testing, establishing SLAs, and programming for resiliency and scalability
- Collaborate with different stakeholders with varied perspectives to develop effective solutions to issues
- Analyze issues from a whole systems approach and implement holistic solutions by ensuring linkages between structure, people, process, and technology are made
- Report on the status of difficult or high-level projects to local tech leadership via written or oral means
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related fileds
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Java Developer
- Proven experience in designing and implementing fully functional solutions to complex business problems
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
- Proficiency in GitHub for managing source code and version control
- Experience with ReactJS and Splunk for building and maintaining high-quality software applications
- Proficiency in Spring Boot and knowledge of microservices
- Ability to make well-defined technology choices and justify decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to facilitate working with cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of testing and monitoring tools and technologies to maintain a high level of code quality
- Mastery of English (B2+ level) for effective communication with team members and stakeholders
- Experience working on multi-quarter projects
- Experience with Agile methodologies to facilitate iterative development
- Knowledge of software design best practices
- Experience leading a community of practice and sharing domain and industry knowledge with cross-functional teams
