Senior Java Cloud Developer
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with AWS expertise to join our remote team.
This role requires a high-performing individual contributor who acts as a mentor to more junior engineers, applies new engineering principles to improve existing systems, and is responsible for leading complex, well-defined projects. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing software using multiple languages and creating APIs to be consumed across the business unit. You will be expected to design easily testable and observable software, debug applications, and test, debug, and fix issues within established SLAs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test complex or non-routine software applications and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements
- Collaborate with peers across the organization to build an understanding of cross dependencies and shared problem solving
- Participate in a community of practice to share and gain knowledge
- Continually seek new technical skills in an engineering area and share new skills and knowledge with the team to increase effectiveness
- Identify opportunities around policies/processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries
- Offer suggestions for improvements in code or systems operation to increase efficiency
- Compile and report on major operational or technical initiatives to larger groups
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Java Developer
- Experience with Amazon Web Services and REST APIs
- Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, and design patterns
- Proficiency in databases, database design principles, and solving data requirements
- Effective use of software frameworks and how to leverage them to write simpler code
- Good understanding of the relationship between applications, databases, and technology platforms
- Experience in leading and clarifying code evolution in code reviews
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 level)
Nice to have
- Proficiency in ReactJS, Kubernetes, and Spring frameworks
- Experience in developing software in at least 3 different languages
- Familiarity with advanced and relevant technology
