We are seeking a highly capable Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team and aid in the upkeep of our SaaS codebase infrastructure.
This position encompasses development, operations, and support elements to ensure the systems operate seamlessly. The right fit for this role will manage infrastructure-related tasks and ongoing maintenance, ensuring our services remain highly available and perform optimally.
Responsibilities
- Upgrade dependencies as Snyk reports recommend to manage gem vulnerabilities
- Transition two Jenkins instances to Buildkite
- Execute version upgrades for Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis
- Switch CentOS7 servers to Rocky Linux 8
- Carry out weekly security upgrades for operating system packages
- Provide round-the-clock support on-call
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Apply principles of infrastructure-as-code utilizing tools like Terraform
- Deploy tools for configuration management such as Chef
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and system standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years in DevOps or systems engineering roles
- Extensive abilities in software development with a background in managing a SaaS codebase and its infrastructure
- Proficiency in the Ruby and Rails ecosystem
- Hands-on background in Linux systems engineering
- Skills in CI/CD methodologies
- Competency in infrastructure tools like Terraform or Chef
- Strong written communication abilities
- Flexibility to work remotely and engage in on-call rotations
Nice to have
- Capability to work with Elastic stack, Nagios, and Jenkins
- Understanding of MySQL, MongoDB, and Nginx
- Capability to understand CDN principles
