Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our remote team, working with a leading provider of cloud-based solutions in the healthcare industry. In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, managing, and scaling virtual machines in Amazon Web Services (AWS) while ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement access controls, authentication mechanisms, and DNSSEC for security. Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and scale virtual machines in AWS while ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance
- Apply CIS benchmarks for VM, OS, and app hardening, and maintain FIPS compliance for data security
- Set up and manage DNS in AWS and implement DNSSEC for security
- Design and implement FedRAMP-compliant access controls and authentication mechanisms
- Participate in security audits and address FedRAMP controls
- Stay updated on AWS and DNS and recommend improvements to infrastructure and deployment processes
- Develop documentation, guidelines, and SOPs to ensure efficient and effective infrastructure and deployment processes
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Amazon Web Services, demonstrating your proficiency in deploying and managing VMs in AWS
- Expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm, enabling you to design and implement scalable and secure infrastructure
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, allowing you to automate infrastructure and deployment tasks
- Experience with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), showcasing your ability to manage and orchestrate containerized applications
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices, including CIS benchmarks, FIPS compliance, and FedRAMP controls
- Experience in designing and implementing access controls and authentication mechanisms, demonstrating your ability to ensure FedRAMP compliance
- Ability to participate in security audits and address FedRAMP controls, reflecting your comprehensive understanding of security and compliance
- Excellent communication skills and strong teamwork capabilities, allowing you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher, enabling effective communication
Nice to have
- Experience with other cloud platforms, such as Azure or Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with additional DevOps tools and technologies, such as Ansible or Jenkins
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies beyond Kubernetes
