Senior DevOps Engineer

We are in search of a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer who will contribute to maintaining the framework of our SaaS codebase.

This role combines development, operations, and support elements to ensure the seamless functionality of our systems. The successful candidate will manage infrastructure-related tasks and regular upkeep, guaranteeing high availability and supreme performance of our services.

Responsibilities
  • Upgrade dependencies as directed by Snyk reports to mitigate gem vulnerabilities
  • Transition two Jenkins instances to Buildkite
  • Execute version upgrades for Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis
  • Migrate CentOS7 servers to Rocky Linux 8
  • Carry out weekly security enhancements for operating system packages
  • Provide continuous on-call support
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Apply principles of infrastructure-as-code utilizing tools like Terraform
  • Implement configuration management tools such as Chef
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain updated documentation and system standards
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years in DevOps or systems engineering roles
  • Extensive skills in software development with a background in supporting a SaaS codebase and its infrastructure
  • Proficiency in the Ruby and Rails ecosystem
  • Hands-on experience with Linux systems engineering
  • Understanding of CI/CD methodologies
  • Expertise in using infrastructure tools like Terraform or Chef
  • Strong abilities in written communication
  • Flexibility to work remotely and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to have
  • Capability to collaborate using Elastic stack, Nagios, and Jenkins
  • Understanding of MySQL, MongoDB, and Nginx
  • Capability to understand CDN principles
