We are looking for a Senior Data Architect to spearhead data design on a new enterprise Databricks platform.
In this role, you will convert business needs into logical data models, implement medallion architecture principles, and guide stakeholders on model application. Join us to influence data architecture that enhances business insights and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Create logical data diagrams collaboratively with English-speaking business stakeholders from Auto OEM, AutoParts, and Auto Warranty units
- Combine, divide, and rename business entities to align with real-world operations and business perspectives
- Expand and maintain data models by adding new business entities and attributes, ensuring appropriate placement
- Lead the team in converting logical diagrams into Databricks data objects, deciding on data persistence or ephemerality
- Provide training to business users on the use of new models within medallion layers
- Develop and update data models utilizing Erwin
- Utilize and enhance the openMetadata catalog
Requirements
- Proven experience in Data Architecture with over 5 years in relevant roles
- Strong leadership capabilities to direct teams on best practices in data modeling
- Background in enterprise data platform initiatives, preferably with Databricks
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling principles including business logical models and avoiding system of record structures like SAP and Mainframe
- Understanding of medallion data architecture and suitable data modeling techniques for end users
- Capability to implement shift-left KPIs such as cleansing, standardization, and core business metrics calculations
- English proficiency at B2+ level for effective communication with business stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience working with automotive industry data and business units
- Certifications in data modeling or architecture
- Familiarity with additional data catalog tools beyond openMetadata
- Hands-on experience with Erwin data modeling software
