Responsibilities
- Design and enforce best practices for cloud and hybrid infrastructure
- Formulate and implement policies to uphold compliance and operational efficiency
- Utilize GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud resource automation
- Deploy and manage cloud components such as VPC, IAM, GKE, KMS, VM, and DNS
- Lead cost optimization initiatives using FinOps methodologies
- Coordinate migration efforts moving workloads from VMs to container platforms
- Maintain thorough documentation to enhance team understanding and knowledge transfer
- Coach team members on technology updates and encourage information sharing
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related discipline
- Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes with hands-on GKE experience
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools including Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager
- Knowledge of cloud security mechanisms like IAM, KMS, and VPC
- Ability to implement cloud cost control and FinOps methods
- Experience with containerization and migrating virtual machines to containers using Docker
- Comprehensive understanding of DNS, load balancing, and cloud networking
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Nice to have
- Experience in hybrid and on-premises cloud environments
- Familiarity with GitOps and its integration into CI/CD processes
- Track record of optimizing cloud strategies and costs
- Knowledge of DNS management in multi-cloud environments
