We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer specialized in Google Cloud Platform to enhance our cloud and hybrid infrastructure. You will be instrumental in shaping cloud best practices, managing scalable solutions, and ensuring cost-effective operations. Responsibilities
- Create and implement best practice frameworks for cloud and hybrid environments
- Define and enforce organization-wide cloud policies for compliance and efficiency
- Leverage GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate infrastructure management
- Manage deployment and administration of cloud resources including VPC, IAM, GKE, KMS, VM, and DNS
- Optimize cloud expenses and apply FinOps strategies to maintain cost control
- Oversee workload migration from virtual machines to container platforms
- Produce comprehensive documentation to facilitate team knowledge and operational clarity
- Support team skill growth by guiding on new technologies and encouraging knowledge exchange
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud engineering or similar roles
- In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes with hands-on GKE experience
- Competence in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager
- Experience with cloud security services like IAM, KMS, and VPC
- Familiarity with cloud cost management and FinOps principles
- Practical containerization expertise including Docker and migration of VMs to containers
- Strong grasp of DNS, load balancing, and cloud networking fundamentals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with documentation proficiency
Nice to have
- Experience with hybrid and on-premises cloud environments
- Familiarity with GitOps and its role in CI/CD workflows
- Demonstrated impact on cloud strategy or cost optimization projects
- Knowledge of multi-cloud DNS integration techniques
