We are looking for a highly skilled remote Senior Cloud Engineer to spearhead our efforts in migrating applications and data from on-premise to GCP. In this role, you will focus on automating infrastructure creation using Terraform, release and build automation using Jenkins, and micro-service application deployment automation and maintenance using Helm and Kubernetes. Our ideal candidate has a wealth of experience working with GCP, building and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline at scale, and is excited to work in a fully GCP shop.
Responsibilities
- Automate infrastructure creation using Terraform, ensuring scalability and ease of maintenance
- Implement release and build automation using Jenkins, streamlining the release process and increasing release frequency
- Automate micro-service application deployment using Helm and Kubernetes, enabling seamless deployments and maintenance
- Define and implement a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline at scale, ensuring quality and velocity of releases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of development efforts
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, ensuring continuous growth and development
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Cloud Engineering and DevOps, continuously improving our processes and tools
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps and Cloud Engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform
- Expertise in container orchestration administration using Kubernetes and Helm
- Strong proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation at scale
- Experience in Jenkins for release and build automation
- Proficiency in Git/SVN for version control
- Experience in Docker for containerization of applications and services
- Proficient in automation and release practices, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills, fostering effective communication with stakeholders and team members
- Strong collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working in cross-functional teams and with external consultants
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
Nice to have
- Experience in other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, broadening our cloud expertise and opening up new opportunities
- Experience in Python or other programming languages, enabling tool development and automation
