Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, define project objectives, and gather detailed requirements
- Map and document business processes, workflows, and system interactions to uncover opportunities for optimization
- Identify areas for business improvement and recommend actionable, innovative solutions aligned with strategic goals
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, lead workshops, and facilitate requirements gathering sessions
- Prepare comprehensive documentation, including user stories, use cases, and business requirement documents (BRDs)
- Serve as the bridge between business and technical teams throughout all stages of the project lifecycle
- Translate business objectives into actionable functional specifications for development teams
- Support solution implementation and testing, ensuring alignment with the defined requirements
- Manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality outcomes
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a BI Analyst, ideally within the insurance industry
- Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and creating prototype queries (joins, aggregates, and window functions)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts including ETL/ELT processes, Data Lakes, Data Marts, star and snowflake schemas, and fact/dimension tables
- Proficiency in using BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI for creating dashboards, metrics, and data visualizations
- Knowledge of data quality principles, including accuracy, consistency, completeness, and timeliness, with experience in validation or UAT for reporting
- Ability to translate business needs into KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements
- Experience analyzing data models like ER diagrams and understanding entity relationships
- Familiarity with master data, reference data, and metadata management practices
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven ability to independently propose new ideas, solutions, and process improvements
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
- English proficiency at a B2 level or higher for effective collaboration
