Senior Application Support Engineer with Core Java

We are looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer with expertise in Java to join our remote team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing support for a large or medium-large ecosystem of applications. You will be tasked with troubleshooting errors, monitoring, and providing recommendations for any Java core apps. You will also be responsible for understanding Web applications, Services, DNS lookups, troubleshooting, and monitoring.

Responsibilities
  • Provide application support for a large or medium-large ecosystem of applications
  • Troubleshoot errors, monitor and provide recommendations for any Java core apps
  • Understand Web applications, Services, DNS lookups, troubleshooting, and monitoring
  • Provide expertise in ITIL Operational Support and Analysis and Incident Management (ITSM)
  • Troubleshoot SQL errors and have a solid understanding of SQL and experience working with DB (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL)
  • Interact with other teams in the organization to resolve issues and provide solutions
  • Follow all ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
  • Document all activities and findings in the ticketing system
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in application support, preferably in a large or medium-large ecosystem
  • Proficiency with Elastic logs, APM logs, etc.
  • Experience working with pre-built Jenkins pipelines
  • Proficiency in Core Java Development
  • Expertise in ITIL Operational Support and Analysis and Incident Management (ITSM)
  • Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with DB (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL)
  • Familiarity with REST API and System Troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to work evening/night/morning shifts and on-call
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 level)
Nice to have
  • Knowledge of Windows administration (IIS, etc.)
  • Virtualization/containerization experience
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles
  • Cloud exposure - Managing application in GCP
  • SQL Performance Tuning (indexes, procedures and functions, transactions)
