Lead Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly adept and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to become part of our dynamic team.

This position involves interfacing with clients to ascertain their transmission requirements and delivering end-to-end solutions, including designing, coding, troubleshooting, and documenting. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in configuring networking solutions and enhancing transmission processes through automation, ensuring data is managed efficiently and securely.

Responsibilities
  • Establish client needs for transmission requests and clarify available options
  • Create and apply solutions that fulfill customer demands
  • Set up SFTP accounts, parameters, and automate file transmission via shell and Perl programming
  • Configure Connect:Direct and file agent scripts to automate scripts
  • Set up and troubleshoot TCP/IP connectivity working with network, system, and firewall administrators
  • Guide team members and follow established methodology guidelines
  • Offer continued support during transmission processes, ensuring 24x7 availability and participation in on-call rotations
  • Assist in maintenance installations and testing during scheduled weekend and night shifts
  • Complete tasks as directed by project leaders and periodically act as a project lead
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux application support and programming including Bash shell, Korn shell, and Perl
  • 5+ years of proficiency in FTP protocols such as SFTP/SSH, FTPS/SSL, HTTP/s, and PGP/GPG
  • 3+ years of background in TCP/IP connectivity setups, troubleshooting, and Managed File Transfer (MFT)
  • Capability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Capability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Showcase of strong writing and interpersonal communication
Nice to have
  • Exposure to Sterling Commerce (now IBM) products like Connect: Direct, Sterling File Gateway, or Cleo Harmony
  • Experience in C programming
  • Understanding of Java programming
  • Exposure to Google Cloud Platform and GCS Bucket storage
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture
