Lead Python Developer

We are in search of a seasoned Lead Python Developer to become part of our dynamic team.

In this capacity, you will oversee the creation of effective client code that interacts with extensive language models (LLMs) via their HTTP API. Rather than direct involvement in training or experimenting with AI models, your focus will be on developing high-performance production environments that leverage the newest LLM technologies, ensuring exceptional and timely responses for users.

Responsibilities

Create LLM-driven experiences that impress our customers
Manage requests from one or multiple front-end clients with robust Python API server code
Formulate cutting-edge LLM client code for high-traffic production settings
Implement the latest LLM models and services to augment functionality
Establish inventive prompting frameworks to support prompt engineers and specialists
Construct SQL queries and schema designs as needed
Offer insights in high-level architectural discussions internally and across teams

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of production-level experience in software engineering within an engineering or product team, preferably in a startup environment
Over 1 year of pertinent leadership experience
Proficiency in Python, HTTP API, and SQL
Competency in leveraging large language models through programming, including models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, or open-source versions like Llama and Mistral
Background in various phases of the ML development cycle, including data labeling, data curation, data cleaning, model training, model evaluation, model serving, and LLM prompting
Expertise in implementing strong software engineering principles

Nice to have

Portfolio demonstrating past integration of HTTP APIs with front-end frameworks
Capability to adapt to emerging LLM technologies
Familiarity with SQL schema design and optimization techniques
