Responsibilities
- Design and oversee deployment of NetApp ONTAP storage across local and Google Cloud Platform environments
- Allocate, adjust, and retire NetApp volumes, exports, and CIFS/SMB shares in alignment with capacity plans
- Conduct proactive monitoring, capacity analysis, performance diagnostics, and fine-tuning of storage resources
- Lead integration initiatives for storage solutions with Active Directory and DNS to ensure proper access control
- Direct incident and problem resolution activities as L3 support, ensuring effective escalation paths
- Plan and supervise disaster recovery strategies, including SnapMirror replication and failover capabilities
- Coordinate patch management and version upgrades following documented standards and runbooks
- Guide automation and Infrastructure as Code projects using PowerShell, Python, or Terraform
- Ensure technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge repositories are complete and up to date
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in storage engineering or administration, particularly with NetApp ONTAP
- In-depth knowledge of NFS and CIFS/SMB protocols, including tuning and troubleshooting techniques
- Expertise in NetApp architecture components such as storage virtual machines, aggregates, snapshots, and replication
- Practical experience integrating storage systems with Active Directory and DNS for CIFS/SMB shares and permissions
- Proven leadership in production support and reliability engineering, adhering to ITSM practices
- Ability to follow and enhance runbooks, clearly documenting technical solutions
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2) for effective communication across technical teams
Nice to have
- Hands-on familiarity with NetApp offerings on cloud platforms like Cloud Volumes ONTAP
- Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python, or Shell for automation tasks
- Experience with Terraform or CI/CD pipelines
- Background with enterprise-grade observability, monitoring, and logging systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster teamwork
- Solid Linux administration capabilities
