We are seeking a skilled Lead Machine Learning Engineer to join our team in designing and enhancing advanced search and ranking functionalities for our customer Content Platform.
This role focuses on utilizing Python.ML and innovative technologies like sparse vectors, BM25, and hybrid search create impactful solutions to intricate problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop search and ranking algorithms using advanced models and methodologies
- Collaborate with client managers and development teams to align objectives and outputs
- Address technical challenges with innovative and effective solutions
- Apply semantic search, sparse vectors, and hybrid search methods to improve functionalities
- Utilize Python.ML for building content processing tools and re-ranking APIs
- Incorporate technologies such as BM25 and Google Vector Search to enhance platform capabilities
- Research and implement optimal tools and techniques for search optimizations
- Maintain quality, scalability, and robustness in machine learning pipelines
- Convert project requirements into actionable technical plans and deliverables
- Identify bottlenecks early and implement solutions to ensure project milestones are met
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working with Python and machine learning tools
- Proficiency in sparse vectors, BM25 vectorizer applications, and hybrid search methodologies
- Expertise in Python with significant experience using advanced ML frameworks and libraries
- Familiarity with Google Vector Search and search engine optimization principles
- Strong communication skills to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Competency to manage tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure
- Flexibility to collaborate across teams and adjust solutions to changing project demands
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Google Vertex AI for deploying and optimizing advanced models
- Background in Java for enhanced integration and functionality within platforms
- Understanding of vector database solutions for managing and querying extensive datasets
