Lead Linux Engineer with Managed File Transfer (MFT)

We are recruiting a highly skilled Lead Linux Engineer with expertise in Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway systems, supported by a strong background in Linux/UNIX environments, file transmission protocols, and automation development. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders to implement and sustain secure, scalable, and efficient file transfer processes.
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway to ensure optimal file transfer operations
- Develop automated MFT workflows using shell scripting and Perl programming
- Set up Connect:Direct and file agent scripts to enhance automated processes
- Collaborate with network, firewall, and system administrators to investigate connection issues involving TCP/IP, FTP, and SFTP protocols
- Analyze business user requirements for file transmissions and create scalable solutions
- Provide 24x7 operational support, including participation in an on-call rotation and executing scheduled maintenance at night or on weekends
- Support team development by mentoring members and adhering to established engineering practices
- Coordinate with project leads to meet objectives and assume leadership roles when required
Requirements
- Extensive experience with CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway in production environments
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux with application support and scripting (Bash/Korn Shell, Perl) for at least 5 years
- Expertise in file transmission protocols like SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS, along with encryption standards such as PGP/GPG for a minimum of 5 years
- Background in TCP/IP networking setups and troubleshooting with 3+ years of MFT-related workflows
- Competency in resolving technical issues through problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Strong ability to manage multiple assignments in high-pressure, deadline-sensitive environments
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong emphasis on documentation
Nice to have
- Background in IBM Sterling Connect:Direct and related workflows
- Skills in programming with C and Java
- Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and familiarity with GCS Bucket storage
- Understanding of cloud architecture concepts and their application to MFT processes
