Lead JavaScript Developer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead JavaScript Developer to join our operations team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a multi-year initiative to reimagine and re-platform a legacy application suite into a SaaS-based solution using cutting-edge technologies and frameworks, all deployed on the AWS cloud. This role demands a leader who can innovate and execute with excellence, driving the project forward with technical acumen and team collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of modern JavaScript solutions
  • Architect scalable and maintainable web applications using JavaScript frameworks
  • Guide the team through complex coding challenges and algorithm optimizations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Ensure code quality and maintainability by conducting code reviews and setting up best practices
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Implement security and data protection settings
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Mentor junior developers and promote a culture of learning and accountability within the team
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in JavaScript development
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership and team management role
  • Proven participation in at least one full cycle project or involvement in multiple projects covering different phases of the development lifecycle
  • Expertise in TypeScript to enhance code quality and developer productivity
  • Proficient with AWS services to architect and deploy scalable applications
  • Strong experience in unit testing frameworks such as Jest, Karma, and Mocha to ensure application reliability
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML/CSS for creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, capable of a B2 level or higher for effective team collaboration and stakeholder management
Nice to have
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices
