Lead Java Developer
We are in search of a Lead Java Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be integral to a team dedicated to providing solutions such as telemetry, rate limiting, centralized authentication and authorization, as well as traffic routing, and load balancing. This position demands a forward-thinking leader capable of designing and optimizing services for peak performance and scalability. As the Lead Java Developer, you will spearhead the technical strategy of our initiatives and guide a team committed to delivering durable, high-efficiency applications.
Responsibilities
- Build superior services that support the objectives of both our internal and external stakeholders
- Craft applications that are scalable, resilient, and primed for the cloud
- Deploy services globally using AWS, ensuring they are accessible from any location
- Apply AWS and Kubernetes to scale services responsively based on varying traffic
- Monitor the health and performance of services with tools such as AWS CloudWatch, Kibana, and Site24x7
- Achieve high levels of code coverage to reduce the probability of production bugs
- Actively engage in Agile processes including planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups
- Implement DevOps strategies to maintain uninterrupted service availability
- Manage and track essential performance metrics through AWS Elastic and Kibana
- Remain adaptable and maintain a positive outlook in a swiftly changing work environment
Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Java Developer
- At least one year of leadership and team management expertise
- Skilled in the Spring framework to boost application functionality and maintainability
- Proficient with Rust to optimize performance at the system level
- Advanced knowledge in Docker and Kubernetes for proficient containerization and service orchestration
- Well-versed in Github and Artifactory for streamlined code management and artifact handling
- Comprehensive understanding of AWS services such as EKS, ECS, DynamoDB, KMS, and Kinesis for developing scalable solutions
- Fluent English communication abilities at a B2 level or higher
Nice to have
- Familiarity with OpenAPI to design and document effective APIs
- Experience with Envoy Proxy to manage complex traffic scenarios
