Responsibilities
- Oversee complex projects with a focus on scalability, performance, and innovation
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
- Guide development and testing teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements
- Collaborate with architects and other technical leads to define system solutions and integration strategies
- Create proof-of-concept applications and prototype new features or frameworks
- Drive Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices and enhance the team's testing strategy
- Ensure code quality, adherence to development processes, and automation practices
- Handle day-to-day system development tasks to meet established SLAs
- Evaluate risks, benefits, and constraints for proposed solutions in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders
- Support continuous learning efforts and quickly adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in Java development
- At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
- Background in REST APIs and Spring Boot
- Proficiency in Jenkins, Git, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry
- Strong background in microservice architecture, infrastructure, and cloud platforms
- Experience in implementing and promoting Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
- Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work 2-3 times per week at the client's office in Lisbon (Saldanha)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (B2+ level or above)
