Lead Data Engineer

We are looking for a proactive and team-oriented Lead Data Engineer to join us and take a key role in a major, high-impact project focused on streamlining our shop selection and opening procedures.

As an essential member of a multidisciplinary project group, you will collaborate with colleagues from Real Estate, Legal, and Site Selection. Your main objective will be to address issues caused by dispersed data sources, construct dependable data pipelines, and establish a unified, reliable data lake that empowers advanced analytics and AI/ML capabilities throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Architect, implement, and support efficient and scalable data pipelines using technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, and DBT
  • Create and oversee a centralized Real Estate data repository within the company’s data lake, acting as the authoritative source
  • Manage all stages of the data lifecycle, including acquisition, standardization, and governance of critical Real Estate and Legal contract information
  • Partner with data scientists to supply high-quality, consistent features for machine learning models, boosting the accuracy of new store forecasts
  • Enable automated data intake from platforms like Procore, LawVu, and Lucernix to streamline the shop opening workflow
  • Work with business partners to outline essential processes and pinpoint valuable automation opportunities
  • Guide the team’s shift from manual, time-consuming analysis to a future of automated model creation and reliable data pipelines
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in relevant roles
  • Minimum one year of experience leading and supervising development teams
  • Background in integrating systems using low code IPAAS solutions such as Workato
  • Demonstrated success as a Data Engineer in cloud environments, ideally AWS
  • Practical expertise with modern data stacks, including cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, transformation tools such as DBT, and integration platforms like Workato or similar
  • Advanced SQL skills and a history of building and maintaining resilient data pipelines
  • Proven ability to unify fragmented data from multiple sources into a single, reliable data foundation
  • Strong communication abilities and a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Initiative and problem-solving skills to independently drive projects in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, at C1+ level or above
Nice to have
  • Experience collaborating with MLOps or Data Science teams, particularly in feature engineering and model scoring
  • Understanding of data related to Real Estate, legal agreements, or multi-location retail operations
  • Skills in Python for data integration tasks
  • Familiarity with Workato
