We invite you to apply for the role of Lead Accessibility Tester within our remote team.

In this key position, the Lead Accessibility Tester ensures our product portfolio maintains high-quality standards. Responsibilities include managing the testing request queue, performing accessibility tests on specific products, and identifying any issues. Additionally, you will guide other testers, help develop test plans and scripts, produce documentation, and provide insights and recommendations derived from testing products.

To excel in this role, a deep understanding of accessibility, familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), extensive knowledge of assistive technologies, automated testing tools, and a strong background in accessibility testing are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Oversight of quality assurance across a diverse product range, overseeing testing requests and ensuring completion
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders in Design, Product Management, and Product Engineering to integrate testing into the product development lifecycle
  • Timely and precise fulfillment of all testing requests, aligning with set expectations
  • Shaping testing decisions and issuing recommendations as a leading expert in accessibility testing
  • Providing guidance to accessibility testers
  • Contributing to the creation of test plans, scripts, and additional documentation related to accessibility testing
  • Crafting and implementing training plans for the testing team in collaboration with the Accessibility Test Lead
  • Execution of quality audits and providing recommendations to minimize quality errors
  • Independent handling of complex products with expertise
  • Fostering a team environment that values collaboration, innovation, and respectful interactions
  • Upholding strict adherence to accessibility policies and guidelines
  • Keeping abreast of new accessibility standards and industry developments
  • Continuous improvement of skills and knowledge in accessibility testing
Requirements
  • BA/BS in information science, information design, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in software development, web development, or a related field of testing
  • At least 3 years of experience in a role focused on accessibility
  • Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities within an engineering team
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 (AA) guidelines
  • Advanced understanding of assistive technologies, accessibility software such as JAWS® and NVDA, and automated testing tools
  • Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar for logging and tracking issues
  • Documented success in coordinating testing activities across different teams
  • Experience in creating test plans and scripts
  • Capability to influence and establish processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, adept at engaging with high-level stakeholders
Nice to have
  • Experience with Figma for design collaboration and prototyping
  • Knowledge of UX design principles
