We are currently searching for a skilled DevOps Engineer to augment our team and sustain the infrastructure of our SaaS codebase.
This position involves a combination of development, operations, and support activities to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of our systems. The chosen applicant will focus on infrastructural tasks as well as routine upkeep to guarantee high availability and performance of shared services.
Responsibilities
- Upgrade dependencies as required by Snyk reports to address gem vulnerabilities
- Transition two Jenkins instances to Buildkite
- Conduct upgrades of Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis to the latest versions
- Transition CentOS7 servers to Rocky Linux 8
- Implement weekly security upgrades for operating system packages
- Provide support on a 24/7 basis while on call
- Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines
- Employ infrastructure-as-code principles using software like Terraform
- Employ configuration management tools such as Chef
- Monitor system performance and address issues
- Keep documentation and system standards up to date
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in DevOps or systems engineering roles
- Extensive software development experience with background in sustaining a SaaS codebase and its infrastructure
- Proficiency in the Ruby and Rails ecosystem
- Background in Linux systems engineering
- Skills in CI/CD methodologies
- Competency in infrastructure tools like Terraform or Chef
- Strong written communication capabilities
- Capability to work remotely and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Elastic stack, Nagios, and Jenkins
- Knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, and Nginx
- Understanding of CDN principles
