DevOps Engineer

Site Reliability Engineering, CI/CD, Chef, Infrastructure & Operations, RubyOnRails, Terraform, Elastic Stack, Graphite, MongoDB, MySQL

We are searching for a seasoned DevOps Engineer to join our team and oversee the infrastructure of our SaaS codebase.

This position requires a mix of development, operations, and support activities to guarantee the smooth operation of our systems. The ideal candidate will be involved in infrastructural projects and regular maintenance, ensuring consistent availability and performance of our services.

Responsibilities
  • Upgrade dependencies as required by Snyk reports to address gem vulnerabilities
  • Transfer two Jenkins instances to Buildkite
  • Conduct upgrades of Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis to recent versions
  • Transition CentOS7 servers to Rocky Linux 8
  • Conduct weekly security upgrades for operating system packages
  • Deliver 24/7 on-call support
  • Build and uphold CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement principles of infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform
  • Employ configuration management tools like Chef
  • Supervise system performance and resolve problems
  • Keep documentation and system standards updated
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps or systems engineering roles
  • Extensive background in software development with a focus on maintaining a SaaS codebase and its infrastructure
  • Proficiency in the Ruby and Rails environment
  • Expertise in Linux systems engineering
  • Skills in CI/CD methodologies
  • Competency in infrastructure tools such as Terraform or Chef
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work remotely and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to have
  • Experience with Elastic stack, Nagios, and Jenkins
  • Proficiency in MySQL, MongoDB, and Nginx
  • Knowledge of CDN principles
