DevOps Engineer

Site Reliability Engineering, CI/CD, Chef, Infrastructure & Operations, RubyOnRails, Terraform, Elastic Stack, Graphite, MongoDB, MySQL

We are in search of an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team to sustain the infrastructure of our SaaS codebase.

The position entails a combination of development, operations, and support responsibilities to ensure uninterrupted operation of our systems. The selected individual will partake in both infrastructural projects and routine upkeep, securing high availability and performance of our services.

Responsibilities
  • Upgrade dependencies as per the guidance of Snyk reports to fix gem vulnerabilities
  • Transition two Jenkins instances over to Buildkite
  • Perform updates for Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, MySQL, and Redis to their latest versions
  • Switch CentOS7 servers to Rocky Linux 8
  • Conduct weekly security upgrades for the operating system packages
  • Offer on-call support continuously throughout the day and night
  • Design and sustain CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement principles of infrastructure-as-code utilizing tools such as Terraform
  • Employ configuration management tools like Chef
  • Keep track of system performance and address any arising issues
  • Uphold documentation and system standards
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in DevOps or systems engineering roles
  • Extensive software development background, specifically in maintaining a SaaS codebase and its infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Ruby and Rails ecosystem
  • Hands-on background in Linux systems engineering
  • Skills in CI/CD methodologies
  • Competency in infrastructure tools like Terraform or Chef
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work remotely and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to have
  • Experience with Elastic stack, Nagios, and Jenkins
  • Understanding of MySQL, MongoDB, and Nginx
  • Capability to grasp CDN principles
