Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic IT team.
This role is integral to managing, optimizing, and securing our SQL database ecosystems while driving automation, cloud adoption, and architectural innovations to support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-premises and cloud environments
- Automate database operations through Azure DevOps Pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Ensure database performance through advanced optimization and tuning techniques
- Implement solutions for disaster recovery, high availability, and compliance with data retention policies
- Secure databases by defining and applying governance, access control, and best practices
- Work with development and DevOps teams to align database architecture with business requirements
- Produce clear and accurate documentation, including design specifications and SOPs
- Design and deploy monitoring dashboards, metrics, and alerts for performance and availability
- Evaluate emerging database technologies and provide informed recommendations
- Resolve incidents and manage changes related to the database environment, including on-call support
- Build and maintain database standards and best practices to drive operational excellence
- Mentor team members and promote continuous learning and collaboration
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in SQL and managing Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Expertise in backup/recovery, database security, and performance monitoring
- Experience with data warehouse architecture, large-scale datasets, and data modeling
- Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Knowledge of SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS technologies
- Fluency in operating databases across Windows Server and Linux ecosystems
- Experience with cloud services like Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, or Google Cloud SQL
- Understanding of CI/CD workflows and Agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with database access control aligned with RBAC principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on operational excellence
- Excellent communication and customer-centric collaboration skills
