We are seeking a Data Architect to lead data design in a new enterprise Databricks platform, driving effective data modeling and reuse.
You will translate business requirements into logical data models, apply medallion data architecture principles, and educate stakeholders on model usage. Apply now to shape data architecture that drives business insights and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Whiteboard logical data diagrams with English-speaking business stakeholders from Auto OEM, AutoParts, and Auto Warranty business units
- Merge, split, and rename business entities to better reflect real-world operations and business perceptions
- Maintain and extend the data model with new business entities and attributes, identifying the right placements
- Drive the team on translating logical diagrams into Databricks data objects and determine persistence versus ephemeral data
- Educate business users on utilizing new models across medallion layers
- Design and maintain data models using Erwin
- Use and extend the openMetadata catalog
Requirements
- Experience in Data Architecture with 3+ years of relevant experience
- Strong leadership skills to guide teams on data modeling best practices
- Experience in enterprise data platform projects, preferably involving Databricks
- Knowledge of data modeling principles, including business logical models, and avoidance of system of record structures like SAP and Mainframe
- Understanding of medallion data architecture and appropriate data modeling for consumers
- Ability to implement shift-left KPIs, including cleansing, standardization, and calculation of core business metrics
- Proficient in English with a B2+ level for effective communication with business stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience with automotive industry data and business units
- Certification in data modeling or architecture
- Familiarity with data catalog tools beyond openMetadata
- Experience with Erwin data modeling tool
