Chief Python Developer

Python.Core, CI/CD, Grafana, Kubernetes, PyPy, Splunk, SonarQube, Twistlock

We are actively seeking a proficient Chief Python Developer to join our dynamic team.

The chosen individual will play a key role in upgrading and securing our Python framework, overseeing the development and improvement of Python-based tools and libraries across different platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Assess current Python utilization within the organization
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture to delineate and document Python application usage
  • Design strategies to develop a modern, secure Python ecosystem with packaging and deployment across platforms including Kubernetes, Windows, and Mac
  • Work in collaboration with the Security team on deployment strategies, configuration, and system scanning of the Python environment
  • Implement secure methodologies for managing Python libraries
  • Engage in creating, reviewing, and updating standards and documentation
  • Evaluate and integrate security scanning tools like Twistlock, Linting, Coverity, and BlackDuck in Python CI/CD processes
  • Manage Artifactory integration for Python versions and enhance malware scanning methods for Python libraries
  • Develop guidelines and documentation for incorporating new libraries into PyPi and new Python versions into the PyEnv repository
  • Establish policies to prevent Python library downloads from PyPi
  • Supervise the open-source approval process for Python modules and libraries, including their intake and evaluation
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a related role
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a similar capacity
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, with a strong background in Grafana and Splunk
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and familiarity with PyPy
  • Knowledge of Twistlock scanning, Linting, Coverity scanning, and SonarQube specific to Python code
  • Experience with BlackDuck integration in CI/CD for Python
  • Capability to manage Artifactory integrations and the process of updating Python libraries and versions
  • Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level
