Chief Manual Tester

Remote in Mexico

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Manual Tester to join our dynamic team.

This role involves overseeing QA processes, managing and coordinating teams, ensuring high-quality testing standards, and serving as a critical liaison between offshore and onsite teams within an innovative and challenging project environment.

Responsibilities
  • Define and update the Test Plan and Test Strategy to align with project needs
  • Coordinate the QA team’s activities, including planning, estimations, task prioritization, and monitoring
  • Oversee change processes and implement improvements while mitigating risks in dynamic project situations
  • Maintain Jira dashboards, compile QA statistics, and prepare project status reports
  • Facilitate automation progress in collaboration with the Pod
  • Provide sprint sign-offs and oversee production release readiness
  • Offer constructive feedback to team members and ensure their professional development
  • Represent the offshore team to address queries, highlight issues, and strengthen communication with onsite counterparts
  • Engage in grooming, planning, retrospectives, daily standups, and stakeholder interactions
  • Manage communication across a distributed team spanning the USA, Belarus, and India, ensuring effective collaboration with Pod leads
  • Perform functional testing of e-commerce applications across desktop, mobile web, native apps (iOS/Android), and backend components
  • Conduct web analytics testing using tools like Charles Proxy and Adobe Analytics
  • Evaluate and interpret product requirements for coherence with current feature sets
  • Document and verify defects to maintain quality benchmarks
Requirements
  • 7+ years of QA experience with a record of leading successful projects
  • 2+ years supervising teams of 5-8 QA engineers
  • Background in mobile, API, and web services testing
  • Capability to design and optimize comprehensive Testing Strategy
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies for iterative workflows
  • English proficiency at a B2 level or higher for clear communication
  • Reliability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Stress management and readiness for projects with demanding deadlines and evolving requirements

  • Proficiency in BDD testing methodologies and Gherkin syntax
  • Background in e-commerce applications
