We are seeking an accomplished and experienced Chief Java Developer to strengthen our Global Markets eTrading team.

This role focuses on delivering cutting-edge digital services that enable corporate and institutional clients to trade a wide range of investment products worldwide. The position involves developing real-time solutions optimized for low latency and high-volume trading in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The position is based in Lisbon, with a hybrid setup of 2 days per week working from the office.

Responsibilities

Lead team operations and oversee software development lifecycle processes
Coordinate with the production support team to manage component releases and maintenance
Offer architectural guidance informed by your technical expertise
Develop and deliver real-time event-driven applications
Enforce test-driven development and continuous integration standards
Mentor and guide team members to enhance their contributions
Influence the platform's overall technology strategy
Facilitate collaboration between distributed teams across multiple regions
Address troubleshooting needs and resolve technical issues as required

Requirements

7+ years of experience in software development with Java
2+ years of leadership experience in relevant roles
Mastery of core Java concepts, including multithreading and garbage collection optimization
Understanding of Algorithms & Data structures
Familiarity with concurrency collections and their practical uses
Expertise in building real-time event-driven applications
Proficiency in English for both written and verbal communication
Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies
Strength in working collaboratively within globally distributed teams
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Adaptability and eagerness to quickly learn new domains
