Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Implementation & Architecture Lead

We seek a senior-level Adobe Journey Optimizer Implementation & Architecture Lead to guide the design, integration, and delivery of a scalable AJO platform in collaboration with our external solution team.

This role will serve as a critical technical and strategic contributor, leveraging expertise in AJO architecture, data integration, and customer journey optimization to enhance marketing operations and personalization capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead AJO solution architecture and implementation in collaboration with agency delivery teams
  • Align marketing use cases with journey logic, event structures, segmentation strategies, and activation workflows
  • Define schemas, identity stitching methods, and real-time event models alongside technical teams
  • Configure platform components, such as offers, decisioning rules, triggers, and journeys, while providing direct technical input
  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure Snowflake data is optimized for AJO activation
  • Outline requirements for customer attributes, behavioral events, and consent management workflows
  • Review data flows to validate integration processes, ensuring quality inbound and outbound connections
  • Upgrade current customer journeys using AJO capabilities to enhance personalization, scalability, and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with Email Operations and Marketing Ops teams to validate and activate journeys across channels
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including Martech strategists, platform architects, technical engineers, and program leads
  • Contribute to structured documentation that supports platform configuration, use case mapping, and quality assurance plans
  • Align strategies with teams like Martech, CRM, Campaign Marketing, Legal, and Brand stakeholders
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing technology or digital implementation roles
  • Expertise in Adobe Journey Optimizer with substantial hands-on implementation knowledge
  • Certification in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO Architect, AEP Business Practitioner, Adobe Target)
  • Proficiency in journey architecture, lifecycle logic, and real-time personalization frameworks
  • Background in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses for marketing activation
  • Capability to design data schemas, decisioning strategies, and event payloads for cross-channel campaigns
  • Familiarity with identity resolution, consent management, and compliance frameworks like GDPR or CCPA
  • Competency in handling JSON payloads, API specifications, and event instrumentation
  • Understanding of AJO's integration with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time CDP, and connected marketing systems
  • Strong collaboration abilities for cross-functional and vendor engagement
  • Capability to author technical documentation for architecture, QA protocols, and operational plans
