Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) Implementation & Architecture Expert

We are looking for a senior-level Adobe Journey Optimizer Implementation & Architecture Expert to lead the design, integration, and delivery of a scalable AJO platform in partnership with our external solution team.

This role will be a critical technical and strategic contributor, offering expertise in AJO architecture, data integration, and the optimization of customer journeys to elevate marketing operations and personalization capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead AJO solution architecture and implementation in partnership with agency delivery teams
  • Translate marketing use cases into journey logic, event structures, segmentation strategies, and activation workflows
  • Define schemas, identity stitching approaches, and real-time event models in collaboration with technical teams
  • Configure platform components, including offers, decisioning rules, triggers, and journeys, while directly contributing to technical execution
  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure Snowflake data supports AJO activation
  • Define requirements for customer attributes, behavioral events, and consent management
  • Conduct QA on data flows to validate inbound and outbound integration processes
  • Modernize existing customer journeys utilizing AJO capabilities for personalization, scalability, and responsiveness
  • Collaborate with Email Operations and Marketing Ops teams to QA and activate journeys across channels
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary solution team, including Martech strategists, platform architects, technical engineers, and program leads
  • Contribute to a structured documentation framework to support platform configuration, use case mapping, and quality assurance plans
  • Provide strategic alignment to teams including Martech, CRM, Campaign Marketing, Legal, and Brand stakeholders
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing technology or digital implementation roles
  • Expertise in Adobe Journey Optimizer with strong hands-on implementation experience
  • Certification in Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO Architect, AEP Business Practitioner, Adobe Target)
  • Proficiency in journey architecture, lifecycle logic, and real-time personalization frameworks
  • Background in Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses used for marketing activation
  • Ability to develop data schemas, decisioning strategies, and event payloads for cross-channel campaigns
  • Familiarity with identity resolution, consent and preference management, and regulatory compliance environments such as GDPR or CCPA
  • Competency in JSON payload management, API specifications, and event instrumentation
  • Understanding of AJO's integration points with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time CDP, and downstream marketing systems
  • Strong collaboration skills for cross-functional and vendor teamwork
  • Ability to create technical documentation for architecture, QA protocols, and operational roadmaps
